We want the Government to require energy companies to pay towards the maintenance and upkeep of renewable energy solutions that provide electricity to the grid, via a standing charge, in the same way that they have a standing charge to supply energy to the home.

Energy companies have massively increased their standing charges before the consumer even uses any gas or electricity. Since most owners of solar panels, wind turbines etc. provide electricity to the grid, it is only right that the energy companies are required to pay a standing charge, on top of payments for the energy supplied.
