Rules and regulations relating to the sale of headphones should meet the International Telecommunications Union/World Health Organisation H.870 v2 safety standards which require them to provide users with sound exposure information so they can safeguard their own hearing and that of their children.

Unmanaged headphone use is a big risk to hearing, so providing users with information will enable them to manage their sound exposure to avoid hearing loss and related conditions such as cognitive decline.
