Fund more training for police in dog control matters

I think that funding must be made available for dog behaviour and handling training for all police officers. More expert handling, including safe use of tranquiliser guns, and identification of dogs should help them to carry out their duties more effectively.

I think every officer should be trained on how to identify dog breeds, so that legal breeds are not seized in error. Dog behaviour and handling training should help ensure police, public and dogs are better protected and less traumatic to all those involved. Knowledge of dog body language could also make management of situations involving dogs better and safer for everyone.
