Require dismissal of police for any misconduct and create new complaints body

I think we need reform of how our complaints against and misconduct by police are handled, to protect the public first and foremost. I think the Government should require mandatory dismissal of all police found guilty of misconduct and all complaints should be investigated by an independent body.

I think that public opinion in this matter is clear. I think that often justice is not served and police are too often allowed to continue to serve despite misconduct.

We want a one-strike policy for any incidents of misconduct and police to be investigated by totally independent bodies (not made up of previous police staff).

Fine with a reframe around mandatory dismissal of police officers found guilty of misconduct, and all complaints to be investigated by an independent body.
