Review the sale/purchase of properties to streamline and improve protections

We want the Government to review the process for sale/purchase of property and consider how to streamline this and provide greater protections to buyers and sellers. This could be through a system similar to Scotland, where sellers are responsible for surveys and accepted offers are binding.

At the moment people can pull out of the sale or use underhand tactics at the last minute to gain a financial advantage. We want the Government to consider how to remove some of the uncertainty from this process.

Moving home or buying your first home is one of the most stressful things you can do. At the moment it is filled with uncertainty right up to the point of exchange of contracts. So many people spend so much time and money getting to the point of exchange of contracts only to be messed around. We want the Government to consider how to change the laws to remove some of this uncertainty and stress much earlier in the proceedings.
