Reform the General Election System to Allow Direct Voting for Political Parties

We call on the UK Government to introduce legislation to reform the electoral system so that citizens vote directly for a political party to lead the country, rather than for individual candidates in constituencies.

Under this system, each voter would cast a single vote for their preferred political party, and parliamentary seats would be allocated based on the overall share of the national vote.

We believe this reform would:
• Ensure every vote counts equally, better reflecting the will of the people.
• Make elections clearer and fairer by focusing on party leadership and policies rather than local constituency boundaries.

We urge the Government to consider and implement this change to improve democratic representation in the UK.
