It has been reported that some transgender individuals have been refused prescriptions for hormone medication, or had them withdrawn, despite having a gender dysphoria diagnosis. Hormones are extremely important to many transgender people and can help them cope with symptoms of gender dysphoria. Not having access to hormones may also affect access to further treatment.
