Stop the "Safe Return Review" Policy for Refugees in the UK

The Safe Return Review policy requires refugees in the UK to undergo a review before they can apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain (Refugee Settlement). We think this policy has created years of uncertainty and instability for refugees. We urge the government to end this policy.

We think the policy:

- Overlooks the lives refugees have built in this country and that their relationship to the UK may go beyond protection; it has become their home.

- Means refugees are living in a state of limbo for years.

- Negatively impacts on refugees' mental health.

- Negatively impacts on refugees' career, their contribution to the economy, and their employers.

- Creates social injustice.

- Creates additional administrative work for the Home Office.

- Has no evidence of any positive impact.
