Review process for Foster Carers transferring between local authorities

The current process expects you to be reassessed when you move local authority. Foster Carers are assessed at a professional level and we think should be able to easily move Counties should they wish.

Many Councils are desperate for Foster Carers. We think the current transfer process for existing, approved carers is difficult and complicated, creating a barrier which prevents good quality carers wanting to move from one area to another. Once approved and are subject to continual Supervision, checks and training. Why do they need to go through the reassessment process from scratch? We think it is unnecessary and unwarranted.
