We think the Government should require all social media companies currently providing services in the UK to provide users with a means of deactivating so called ‘infinite scrolling’.

Limitless scrolling is designed to ensure that social media users maintain their use for as long as possible.
We think there are many issues with this form of social media design including:
-Mental health issues
-Users losing productivity and track of time
- Decreases in attention span
- Physical health problems (poor posture and eye issues)
- Ethical issues including exploitation of users and influence of opinion by algorithms.

We think by allowing users to turn these functions off, users gain the control.
