Hold a referendum on a future UK Security/Defence pact with any European country

The Government is committing billions of taxpayer money to defence, such as to support Ukraine, and may commit to a potential security or defence pact with the EU, or group of European countries. We believe such a pact is not in the national interest and must be subject to a referendum.

The UK has committed around £12.8 billion to support Ukraine since 2022, plus £3bn a year, and there have been increased costs of living and energy. We believe that defence funds should be prioritised for our own Armed Forces, and for the defence of the UK’s borders and its territories, and to safeguard the UK against the threat of fundamentalist terrorism. We want a referendum on a defence/security pact with any European country.
