The OBR forecast that the 2021 ‘Trade and Cooperation Agreement’ will reduce long run productivity by around 4% compared to staying in the EU. It also predicts that imports & exports will be 15% lower. We think that new trade, beyond the European area has proved elusive and trivial at best. We believe that in an increasingly perilous geopolitical situation, Britain should strengthen and deepen its allegiances with like minded nations.
