We feel those with fibromyalgia face an unfair financial burden for necessary medications. Fibromyalgia is a lifelong condition that causes chronic pain, extreme fatigue, cognitive impairment, and mobility issues. Many people with fibromyalgia cannot work full-time or at all, yet they still have to pay for multiple prescriptions each month. No cure exists, so long-term medication is essential for managing symptoms and maintaining quality of life. Other chronic illnesses with similar levels of disability are already exempt—why not fibromyalgia?

We want the Government to review and expand the NHS Medical Exemption Certificate criteria to ensure fair access to prescriptions for those with fibromyalgia and related conditions.
