Introduce a voluntary 0.1% income tax to support Ukraine

We think UK citizens should be enabled to show their solidarity with Ukraine, acknowledging the bravery of it's people, its armed forces and president, by allowing them to opt-in to an extra income tax contribution of 0.1% or higher to directly fund Ukraine's fight against invasion by Russia.

We think the UK government is better placed to coordinate any such contributions (from collection to allocation) and has the means and the reach to make a bigger difference than any other UK-based organisation. We believe a government-backed initiative will also be trusted by any UK citizens who want to show unwavering support for the Ukrainian fight against tyranny and, in our view, commitment to decency and democracy in Europe.
