Review road tax to fairly account for vehicle age and emissions

I want the government to review the road tax system to reduce the tax burden on owners of older cars. I think the current system unfairly penalizes these owners with high taxes, despite newer vehicles with higher emissions potentially paying much lower taxes, which could favour wealthier individuals

The current road tax system disproportionately affects owners of older cars with higher emissions, even though newer cars with even higher emissions are potentially paying much lower taxes. We think this creates an unfair financial burden on people who cannot afford to buy new vehicles. We feel it’s not just about emissions, but about a system that favors wealthier individuals while penalizing those who maintain their older cars. We think the tax structure should be reviewed to make it more equitable for all car owners.
