Reinstate the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) to support farmers and nature

Reinstate the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) to help farmers transition to regenerative agriculture, improve soil health, protect biodiversity, and strengthen UK food security. We believe that this scheme for sustainable farming and nature recovery was cut without warning, putting this at risk.

The SFI supported farmers in restoring degraded soil, reducing pollution, sequestering carbon, and enhancing biodiversity while ensuring economic viability. We think its removal undermines farmers, food security, and climate resilience, placing the UK’s legally binding Net Zero target in jeopardy. At COP28, nations committed to transitioning 160M hectares to regenerative agriculture by 2030. We believe that without SFI we are regressing and failing all points.
