Require pension schemes to offer the option to invest in UK companies only

The Government should enact legislation to require employer pension schemes to offer the option for scheme members to choose a solely domestic fund or index tracker. This would ensure that the economy is supported through investment in domestic companies.

At present, scheme members may not have the choice of investing solely in UK listed companies. Many people could be unaware how much of their default global fund is concentrated in tech companies in the US, and many of those may rather choose to support companies closer to home, as well as avoiding currency risk.
