Provide funding to develop a national programme for SEN children during holiday

I urge the government to provide funding to develop a consistent, national programme of holiday provision for SEN children. This should include, a range of inclusive holiday clubs and activities, trained staff equipped to support SEN children and those with more complex or challenging behaviours.

SEN children deserve the same opportunities for social interaction, enjoyment, learning, and structured play as any other child. They also deserve safe, specialised environments that understand and support their unique needs. This not only impacts the wellbeing of our children, but also in my view makes it extremely difficult—if not impossible—for parents / carers to maintain employment.
