Raise the maximum age a child can be for parents to claim learning allowance

I believe student parents should be able to claim learning allowance until their child is 19. I believe this could help support students during their degree and alleviate financial concerns, which have a significant impact on their ability to learn and complete their degrees.

The current cut-off age to receive this extra support is 15. Children are expected to stay in education until the age of 18 unless on an apprenticeship. I believe removing this allowance can place a further burden on the household. Many full time student parents, especially those who are studying degrees such as nursing, are having to find extra employment alongside an already demanding degree causing excessive financial and emotional stress, leading to burnout.
