Require confirmation of next of kin in writing and legally recognise wishes

We want the Government to require people to confirm their next of kin in writing and for it to be legally recognised. We think this could ensure their wishes are respected and could avoid confusion or disputes in medical, legal, or end-of-life situations.

We want the Government to require individuals to confirm their next of kin in writing. We think this could ensure their wishes are respected and could prevent confusion, disputes, and distress, especially for those in non-traditional families or estranged from relatives. A written declaration could provide clarity for medical, legal, and administrative decisions, ensuring the intended person is consulted when needed.
