Require Universities in England to hold mandatory workshops on consent

All university students should be required to attend consent education. We think mandatory workshops could help prevent sexual misconduct, promote respect, and create safer campuses. We think optional sessions aren’t enough, education on consent must be a standard part of university life.

Universities have a duty of care to protect students. Sexual harassment is widespread, yet in our view, many lack basic education on consent and boundaries. We think mandatory workshops would provide consistent, preventative education and help create safer, more inclusive campuses. We think the government must act to standardise this in England.
