Fund more financial support for legal guardians of children and young people

Fund more financial support to legal guardians of children and vulnerable young people. These guardians can save local authorities thousands of pounds a year by preventing young people going into care such as children’s homes and foster care and without, in many cases, enough support for themselves.

I think Parliament should consider the support that legal guardians receive, increase the financial support provided and acknowledge the savings that legal guardians help make for the state and local authorities by ensuring that vulnerable young people do not go into care. The Guardian’s Allowance is currently £22.10 per week, per child, but in my view is very difficult to apply for. It can also be rejected in some cases for certain reasons.
