Ban plea deals in serious sexual offence cases against children & the vulnerable

We want the government to change the law so that plea bargains are not allowed in cases of serious sexual offences against children or vulnerable people. We think the CPS should be required to pursue charges that reflect the full severity of the crime.

We feel that survivors deserve justice that reflects the truth of what happened and allowing offenders to plead to lesser charges has the potential to cause trauma, reduce accountability, and damage trust in the justice system. These crimes must be treated with the seriousness they deserve.
