Set fixed prices that councils can charge for burials and ban leasehold plots

Some councils charge upwards of £4000 to bury one individual. If we consider the cost of living crisis and the levels of poverty in this country, this can place working families at a significant disadvantage and lead to debt.

I would like for the government to create a blanket pricing agreement (fixed fee) in pricing for all local councils. I would like for the government to also remove the leases for all graves. I think plots should only be available to purchase outright (freehold). I think the cost to be buried should not be so high, and that every individual has a right to be buried according to their faith or personal views.
