Reverse Abortion Decriminalisation in England and Wales

We urge the UK Government to reverse abortion decriminalisation in England and Wales, voted by 379 MPs on 17 June 2025. Many believe this undermines life. Reinstate penalties under the 1861 Offences Against the Person Act to protect unborn children.

On 17 June 2025, MPs voted 379 to 137 to amend the Crime and Policing Bill, decriminalising abortion for women ending their own pregnancies in England and Wales. We believe this opposes public values and the sanctity of life. We call for restoring criminal penalties while keeping the Abortion Act 1967’s safeguards for legal abortions.
