Modernise treason laws to include terrorism and wilful betrayal of the state.

Treason legislation to be updated in line with wilful acts against the UK. Modern threats such as domestic terrorism, joining proscribed terrorist organisations acting against the UK, coercion with a hostile state to harm the UK and betrayal of public mandates all to be considered as modern treason.

Whilst we believe it is essential to maintain treason as hostile acts against the Monarch, this does not encompass acts against the State and the UK population as a whole. As the Monarch could be argued to be a largely a ceremonial position, we think treason legislation must be updated to reflect the modern day make up of the UK to ensure hostile acts against the nation by its own citizens are likewise classified, and convictions reflected as treason.
