Some academic research shows KYC checks exclude vulnerable groups, and that affiliate sites have seen a marked decrease in online searches for licensed online casinos since the new KYC checks. Trends show growth in "no KYC casino" searches since 2023. Many self-excluded gamblers now access the black market. We believe current policy creates a two-tier system: privileged access regulated sites, working-class may face unregulated risks. We believe evidence-based reform is needed urgently.
