Illegal parking is incredibly common all over the country, we think the fines arent big enough to act as a deterrent and also not big enough to fund effective enforcement.

We think the current fine of £70 (or £35 if paid within 2 weeks) outside of London doesn't cover costs and makes recruiting wardens (civil enforcement officers) difficult due to low wages.

We think this means our streets are clogged with bad drivers abandoning their vehicles wherever they feel unlikely to get fined.
