Give people power to dismiss MPs – change the Recall of MPs Act

Right now, voters have no way before an election to remove an MP who stops listening, breaks promises, or ignores their local area.
We think this would give the public the right to remove their MP if they believe they are no longer doing the job properly.
Right now, voters have no way before an election to remove an MP who stops listening, breaks promises, or ignores their local area.
We think this change would give people the right to hold their MP to account between elections.
If 10% of voters in the MP’s constituency signed a petition, a by-election would be held.
We think this would make politics more democratic, fairer, more accountable, and give real power back to the public.
