We believe current Home Office policies for visa applications for individuals from the western regions of Ukraine are based on out-of-date information. We believe the war in Ukraine is escalating rapidly and the West is facing heavy attacks similar to other regions.

We are concerned about reports of Ukrainian visa applications being declined on the basis that it is safe to return to Western Ukraine, including Ukrainians who may have not resided there before the war. Despite these allegations, the FCDO continues to advise against all but essential travel to those parts of the country. We believe that by recognising all of Ukraine as dangerous, Ukrainian immigrants could have a fair chance at obtaining a visa.
