Fund a national rollout of free-to-use Calisthenics Outdoor Gyms

We urge the Government to fund the rollout of free-to-use outdoor gyms for bodyweight strength training, also known as Calisthenics (derived from Greek, meaning beautiful strength), as we believe there are hardly any Calisthenics outdoor gyms.

With Calisthenics, we think outdoor fitness improves people's physical and mental health, reduces stress on the NHS and provides fun community activities, yet we believe there are hardly any pull up bars, Swedish walls and parallel bars in public parks for people to enjoy doing bodyweight strength training. We think everyone needs something to do, but when facilities for healthy and fun activities, such as Calisthenics, are not provided in public parks, it may lead to antisocial behaviour and drug use.
