Patients who rely on privately prescribed essential medicines can face sudden, extreme price hikes that make treatment unaffordable overnight. Stopping these medicines abruptly could cause serious health problems and increase NHS costs and price hikes could fuel unsafe black market alternatives. We believe this is a public health risk that needs urgent Government action.
