Require all new drivers to have a black box for the first two years

Introduce a law requiring all new drivers to have black boxes for their first two years. We believe this could help reduce serious accidents, save lives, protect others, and instil safe driving habits from the start, particularly given the disproportionate harm caused by new drivers.

This petition was sparked by the death of a 2-year-old and the critical injury of his father by a young driver.

Young drivers still cause a disproportionate number of deaths and serious injuries to passengers, pedestrians, and other road users.

We believe mandatory black boxes could cut serious accidents, helping to save lives and instil safe driving habits.
