Create a National Strategy for Childhood Apraxia Of Speech (CAS)

We want the Government to create and fund a National Strategy for CAS, which should include: - Increase education of CAS. - Set up and fund a working group of experts and families to advise Government. - Create a strategy across health and education sectors, similar to autism and dyslexia.

CAS is a rare but serious speech disorder. We believe that without early, specialist support, children can struggle to develop speech, be understood, and access education. Right now, there is no national strategy or pathway for CAS in the UK. We believe families face long waits, inconsistent services, and a postcode lottery of support. We think a National CAS Strategy could mean children get the timely assessment, therapy, and support they need to communicate and thrive.
