Ask NAO to investigate any errors in CMS arrears from system migrations

We call on Parliament to request the National Audit Office (NAO) to conduct an audit of all arrears transferred between CSA and CMS (1993–2025), with results made public. Contractor data handling and verification must be transparent, and arrears checks kept active during any upgrades.

We believe that system changes from CSA to CMS have caused incorrect arrears and enforcement actions against parents. We believe that data errors and unverified balances continue to affect families unfairly. We need an independent review to fix any false arrears and prevent any similar issues in future migrations. Enforcement should pause automatically when arrears are disputed or under review to protect families from harm.
