The Government is consulting on changes to low-value imports that currently could be seen to benefit companies such as Shein & Temu in China; but many people benefit from buying items from smaller companies in countries like Japan where they can buy exclusive items that can't be bought domestically

The proposed changes in the consultation would be bad for the economy because they would add costs for working people and hurt small businesses that import goods that aren't necessarily from big companies in China, and would de-incentivise people from importing goods and also hurt trade.
