Review expiry dates on such equipment to see if it’s possible to remove dates and, where this is not feasible, require the NHS to only purchase products with an expiry date of at least 10 years from date of manufacture.

We believe at the moment, a massive amount of safe supplies and equipment are discarded every month due to being "expired". This is both very wasteful and very expensive.

Paying VAT on basic medical equipment costs the public, and charities such as St John Ambulance, a huge amount of money. Removing VAT on such products could result in easier access to basic care.”
