Not staying in touch can re-traumatise the children who may have had trauma in their past. Foster Carers are encouraged to form strong attachments with children in their care and when these attachments are broken it can cause distress and feelings of mistrust for the children. We are concerned that foster carers are not being informed of current legislation around adoption orders and are unaware the court can decide who remains in contact.
