Seek to establish an audit with France on expenditure securing our borders

Seek to establish an independent audit in cooperation with France to help ensure transparency, accountability, and proper use of taxpayers’ money. Since 2014, the UK has given France hundreds of millions to manage Channel crossings, but there’s little public information on how it’s been spent.

We ask the Government to seek to establish a full, independent, line-by-line audit of all UK funds sent to France for Channel border management since 2014, to publish the results publicly, and ensure future UK-France agreements include clearer transparency and reporting requirements. We think taxpayers deserve to know how their money is being used in this area. We call for greater transparency, accountability, and proper use of UK taxpayers’ money.
