Urge for an international inquiry into Hong Kong & review current HK policies

We believe the Wang Fuk Court fire exposed serious concerns about safety, accountability, and the ability of Hong Kongers to seek truth without fear. As a signatory to the Sino-British Joint Declaration, we feel the UK must promote transparency and protect fundamental freedoms in Hong Kong (HK).

We urge the Government to seek an international inquiry into Hong Kong via diplomatic channels & the UN on protecting freedom of expression in HK.

We also call for the Government to launch a review of UK policies relating to Hong Kong which:

1) Considers targeted sanctions under the Global Human Rights sanction framework for those who may obstruct accountability or silence advocates.
2) Reviews the privileges of Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office as part of the measures to uphold human rights obligations
3) Looks into expanding BNO visa support to protect those advocating for transparency and rights.
