Give parents the right to claim tax refunds for children's education expenses

As education is compulsory and fundamental in a society, parents should receive tax refunds for taxes paid on uniform, materials, tutoring, and school fees during all mandatory years education (5-16). It could help state school pupils, homeschooled and private educated children.

Children over 14 pay VAT on school uniforms despite still being under compulsory school age. Parents of home-educated children fund state education via income tax, receive none of the £8k per-child entitlement, and pay VAT on tutors and materials. Parents of private school pupils similarly pay income tax and now pay VAT on school fees. We believe this is over-taxation. Education policy must be fair, accountable, and recognise that all children in education have the same rights.
