The motorway network has a significant amount of cameras and sensors which can recognise numberplates, speed of vehicles, even weights of HGVs. As the UK moves to an AI approach and incorporates cameras for mobile phone usage and seat belt usage, there needs to be investment to catch and punish lane hogging, which causes great frustration and increases the chances of accidents on the UK roads.
