UK airports have increased drop-off and pick-up charges in recent years. What started at around £5 for a few minutes has risen sharply, with some airports now charging up to £10, such as Gatwick Airport. Passengers already pay Air Passenger Duty and other travel costs, yet must pay extra simply to drop off or collect someone. These fees also affect minicabs, black cabs and ride-hailing services, forcing higher fares. The Government should cap these charges at £5 and prevent further increases.
