Hold a public inquiry into the use of defence-linked AI in the UK public sector

We feel public concern is rising about AI companies deploying automated targeting in military, intelligence & policing. We believe their contracts and influence have been secured without adequate public scrutiny or democratic control. A public inquiry could investigate & address these concerns.

We believe there is growing concern about the role of private defence-linked AI companies in UK public services, including the NHS, where sensitive data is used. These systems are also deployed in military operations abroad, which we feel raises questions about accountability, civilian harm and risks to civil liberties. The public should have confidence that such systems are transparent, lawful and accountable, and not exposing citizens to misuse of data or technologies developed for surveillance and warfare.
