Abolish 'green' taxes and VAT on energy and fuel and reduce the fuel levy

Remove 'green' taxes and VAT on energy and fuel for households and businesses and incentivise the drilling of oil and gas in the North Sea by reducing the fuel levy. We believe we need a pluralistic approach to energy that helps the present and the future, not the current net zero approach.

We believe we need our North Sea oil and gas industries re-energised given our dependence on imports. The more gas drilled closer to home, the greater the UK’s energy security could be in such volatile times. Such changes could reduce our energy costs, among the highest in the developed world, which cripple UK business competitiveness and households struggling with cost of living. They could ease market concerns on our dependence on imports and investment could increase jobs.
