Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what criteria NICE has set for new dementia treatments to be recommended for provision by the NHS.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence assesses significant new drugs and treatments, including those for the treatment of dementia, through its technology appraisal programme. Technology appraisals are conducted in accordance with NICE’s Guide to the methods of technology appraisal 2013 which is available at:
