Question to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government:

To ask the Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, it he will take steps to work with relevant authorities to ensure that new housing developments prioritise domestic housing needs over those pertaining to asylum claims.

Asylum seekers are not eligible for social housing unless granted asylum by the Home Office and made eligible by the Secretary of State through s.160ZA(2) of the Housing Act 1996.
