Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, whether her Department has made an estimate of the cost to NHS Trusts of the management of venous thromboembolism.

Data on the costs of venous thromboembolism (VTE) treatment is not held centrally. NHS England are actively reviewing how best to monitor VTE prevention practices at a national level, working with key stakeholders including Thrombosis UK.
