It is not possible at the moment to say how many vulnerable individuals and families will be resettled in specific areas across the UK. Our existing policy, based on the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 drawn up by the last Labour Government, is aimed at ensuring that asylum seekers and refugees are dispersed across the country so that no individual local authority bears a disproportionate share of the burden. We are working closely with a wide range of partners, including local authorities and civil society organisations, to ensure that this remains the case.
