Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, if he will make an assessment of the extent to which plans for the new West Yorkshire mass transit system referenced on page 25 of the policy paper entitled Network North, published on 4 October 2023, differ to those set out in Appendix B of the Growth Plan 2022; and whether he has made a recent estimate of the expected timetable for the completion of that project.

The plans set out as item ‘c’ on page 25 of the policy paper Network North, published 4 October 2023, and identified as number 104 in Appendix B of the Growth Plan 2022 are identical. Both refer to the same project ie. West Yorkshire Mass Transit. West Yorkshire Combined Authority aim to deliver a new mass transit system for West Yorkshire by 2040.
